Plasma Spray Systems

Plasma spray is a thermal spraying technique. It utilizes the high temperature of the plasma jet to melt and accelerate the spraying materials, causing them to impact the substrate surface at high speed to form a coating.

APT spraying room provides customers with high-quality and monitoring coating, which can be applied in TBC coating, valve plate, textile, aviation and other fields.

Typical PLASMA coating provided by APT

  • TBC coating
  • Al2O3 based coating
  • WC12Co coating

Know more about the Plasma process technology

The plasma spray process utilizes plasma (hot ionized gas) to melt powder and deposit it onto a substrate via the expanding plasma gas. Nitrogen or argon is the main plasma-forming gas, while hydrogen or helium as a secondary gas boosts the plasma’s heat and velocity. A plasma-arc, formed between a tungsten cathode and a copper anode’s orifice (nozzle), runs on DC from a rectifier power supply. A central control unit manages power, gas flow, and cooling water, sequencing them precisely for reliable process initiation. The nozzle type, arc current, gas ratio, and flow rate govern the plasma stream’s heat, temperature, and velocity. Plasma systems offer controllable temperatures beyond any known substance’s melting range.

Coating Features:

Plasma spray coatings offer the greatest variety of coatings due to the high temperature range of plasma spray guns.
